The Lock function can be found in the File menu and on the tool bar. This function is one of the most important local security features of Password Depot. You can safely leave Password Depot running on your computer, without having to bother that someone could take a look at your password list.
The Lock function locks (secures) the application, moving it into the tray bar.
If you want to restore Password Depot, the only way you can do this is by entering the List Access Key of the password list currently in use. Note that you cannot open another list, create a new one or modify the current one if the application is locked. Only this way you are provided with high local security standards on your computer.
Password Depot can only be unlocked by someone who knows the List Access Key.
To unlock Password Depot, follow these steps:
Click on the tray bar icon of Password Depot. A window opens asking for the List Access Key.
Enter the List Access Key.
Click the OK button.
If the List Access Key is not correctly entered, you will get an Invalid List Access Key error message. In this situation, click Ok on the error message and retype the List Access Key.
